SFI - Used to stand for SEMA Foundation Inc. Website: SFI Foundation
It no longer does, but the initials were retained.
It is a set of safety rating standards for performance parts used in auto racing.

The SFI rated harmonic balancers are safety tested to operate at higher RPMs and under more grueling conditions than regular balancers.

Whether or not you want to spend the money on a daily driver is up to you, but you will be getting a much better product.

If you don't plan to race it at the track, I wouldn't spend the extra money.
If you do then it is money well spent.

I'd buy the SFI part then. Once you get started, you won't want to quit.

A set of subframe connectors and roll bar will do wonders for stiffening up your vert and take a lot of the body flexing out of it.
You will feel like you have a totally different car.

Don't forget to raise the carpet above the welding areas and keep an extinguisher handy.
