i am carbed, but i am in the middle of the swap as we speak.you will need pushrods and gaskets at minumum.if you look up parts on summit racing you can usually get the instructions.http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TFS-51400002/?rtype=1

Are they studded mounted heads, if so you'll need stud mounts and new rocker arms , (only if your old heads are pedestal mount)

no injectors or maf.but 670 holley, weiand stealth intake,b303 with the 1.72s that puts my lift at .516 . i checked piston to valve clearance and put alot of clay on the piston and it never evn touched.so i have plenty of room.

the heads won come with rockers.you will have to chose what u want in there.what white is saying that some heads are stud mount and some are pedestal.if you current setup is already stud mount then you can reuse them.if they are pedestal mount then you will have to buy new rockers to run the trickflow.

Also there are two options on American muscle for the twisted wedge heads the one has .540 with single spring
Max lift and the other is .600 with dual spring there is a 100$ dollar difference

i talked to trickflow and he said the only difference was the valve springs.the better springs im assuming what allows for more lift.im not sure why but i ordered the cheaper set and mine came with double valve springs i remember reading exactly what u said about the cheaper ones having single springs.

unless that was just spring retainers i was looking at,but i didnt pay much attention

The only things I can see that you would need to swap the heads would be 6.700" pushrods and your gaskets. That is if you are just swapping the heads on the combination you have listed in your sig.

Just swapping heads Idk I am considering a few think like changing my cam and intake and keep the heads but I am trying to find a flow chart to compare the two head my currents ones gt40x to the trick flows and If it's worth spending the 1300$

Re: Trick flow 170 heads

Lift Value Intake Flow CFM Exhaust Flow CFM
0.100" 63 53
0.200" 141 107
0.300" 205 144
0.400" 233 171
0.500" 251 187
0.600" 251 193
Tests conducted at 28" of water (pressure). Bore size: 4.030"
61cc CNC-profiled combustion chambers; exhaust with 13⁄4" pipe.

Very worth it over the GT40's.

Re: Trick flow 170 heads

he has gt40x turbo swirl heads
and in my opinion ,its NOT WORTH $ 1300
He will probably pick up 10-15 HP using the same cam and intake
but with the Gt40x heads he can use a bigger cam without changing pistons ,but with the Trickflow's there is a limit on the cam without changing pistons
I've been there done that with the Trick Flows , I know all about them ,they are great heads , but your limited on cam choices ................. i know he doesn't wan't to go into the bottom end on his engine

The TW head is 20 better than the X head, not to mention he would be getting a cylinder head he can grow into.
