Re: side exit exhaust on foxbody?

I personally wouldn't cut a hole in the side skirts. I would just go jack a pair of tips off a z-28 (I know it's a chevy part) but they will sit nicely right under the skirt and would look alot better than cutting a hole in the skirt, but that's just my opinion...

On topic, if you (OP) get some side exhaust on it, post some pics.

How does it look under it, is it a kit or does it look like a custom job?

it was a custom job and its not bad idont know if its just me but the mufflers seem like the sit pretty low, idont know if its like that normally or not, its only like maybe 4-6inches off the ground

Yeah maibe thats why the jobs ive seen they go with the Z-28 camaro pipes so they get more clearance. But my long headers are already pretty low so ill make it around the same height from the ground

Re: side exit exhaust on foxbody?

Try to find some oval or rectangular tubing for the exhaust transition to the side of the car if you build your own. That will partially alleviate the clearance issues that usually plague side exit exhaust systems.

Personally I don't like it just for that reason. The first time you forget and go over a hump or obstruction it either gets damaged or torn off.

As long as you like what you have, that's all that really counts.
Me, I don't like dumps because of the fumes and dust they kick up, plus I think full exhaust out the back sounds better, but that's just my opinion. Go for what you like.

P.S. Did you know you can get Fuel Fragrances for your gasoline or alcohol fuel?
Won't make the fumes any less hazardous, but at least they will smell better.

Ill try to get the oval tubing for sure it was my first choice apart from having better clearance that is what comes on the cobra kit(:
Does having side exits hurt performance or sound?

Performance, maybe a little if it is not properly designed and is restrictive.
Sound, that's a personal preference.
I like the sound of out the back exhaust best, but others may prefer something else.
