transmission help

I have a t5 out of a 91 lx 5.0 its bad locked up I have a newer transmission out of a 94 4.? Liter the input shafts are different can I put my 91 input shaft into the 94

You may have better luck in the 79-95 section.
I'm not sure on that model but some people use the 2.3 t5 with different input shafts and just change the pilot bearing.

I've herd ppl say the 99 and up input shafts are the same as the 5.0 T5, never herd anything about the 94-98 3.8 T5's though.
If in fact they are not the same you'll need a pilot bearing that will mate the two. I've witnessed a mild 5.0L fox twist a D/S using a 4cyl T5 7.5 rear on slicks, so have no fear. I will move this to the 79-95 GT section so maybe you can get the correct info on the tranny and pilot bearing.

The V6 and I4 model T-5 transmissions are weak and not really worth the effort of installing them.
Tear your T-5 apart and see how badly it is damaged. It may be rebuildable.

This is true, but have seen several get guys by until proper replacement can be found, I will say the ones I've seen we're done by guys working at True Blue, now known as FastLane meaning they had access to lifts, tools and exp.
