torque box question

How complicated is it to reinforce the upper andlower torque box on a 93 lx? And if my current torque box isn't in that great of shape should I replace it or will the reinforcment kit get the job done?

The reinforcement kit will get the job done.
It should be welded in and depending on the damage you have, more welding may be required.

im not quit sure of the damage but both of my rear shocks were dented, one busted, and the other snaped in half, i already replaced em but would that be cause of the torque box shifting or moving?

Not unless it ripped the LCA's completely loose, but if that happened the car would be undrivable.

If you have aftermarket LCA's they may be tearing the mounts. I have parted out cars in the past that had megabite arms on them and they were notorious for ripping the boxes. Get under there and clean it up real good and check. I do believe there are kits to beef them up.

The previous owner never reinforced the torque box when he swapped out the 4 cylinder

I don't believe there is any difference in the torque boxes between the models. They are all relatively weak and tend to fail when you go drag racing and start launching hard with sticky tires.

I would look at a kit from wild rides. I just put on an upper kit from UMI and cannot recommend there upper kit to anyone. The were possibly the most ill-fitting product I have ever used. You may be able to just weld the torque box up without the reinforcement plates. I have read the as long as your making under 500hp you can just weld them and be fine.

I think I got the torque box from umi from summit. Have put them in yet. But that should be this week. The plan is to weld up the boxes plus the reinforcement kits. My boxed where a Lil messed up but looks like it's from somebody using them to lift the car with a jack there. So not to bad just a Lil dented. Hoping to be fine
