If you do go with long tubes it's a good idea to go with a mini starter or you can get the stock starter off a 92-95 GT they are a bit smaller than the older ones. Mainly because if you go with stock starter from that year and it goes out you'll have to loosen or remove header to get starter out.

Ok cool thanks guys! I plan on getting a mini starter or a blanket for the one I have now. I'm so excited I'll post a video of the new exhaust when I finish it! Wish I would have got a before and after video that would have been neat to hear the difference.

I would suggest buying header bolts though.they have a smaller head than normal , so it helps getting a wrench or socket on them.because you will have less room by the bolts since the new headers have larger than stock pipes.
I have brand new header bolts I bought when I first bought the car because the original ones were nasty looking. Then my headers came with gaskets and header bolts.

That would be cool to hear a vid.

I was wondering if you could do me a favor.after you post the video here.can you also post it on this other thread I have.its called "exhaust clips".its located in the : off topic, pictures and videos forum.

exhaust clips

Then after a while maybe I can sweet talk a staff member to clean that thread up to only videos then maybe even make a sticky.

Re: 1989 gt

Sometimes you have to take loose the engine mounts and lift the engine a bit to get them slid into place.

Ok I have flowteck long tube headers dumping into 2 1/2" pipe into a custom 3" xpipe back to 2 1/2 pipe into 40 series flowmasters! Sounds great but couldn't geta video yet because my coil went bad. Will get a video tomorrow for sure. Then I think I might put my ten series flows on need to be a little louder
