Go to the MSD website for wiring Instructions & Wiring DIagrams

They have wiring diagrams of almost every type of installation.
Don't guess or you may burn up the box.

Gotcha ,I'll do that thanks. Yeah I wouldn't want to burn it up. And r those pretty reliable and last for a while with no problems out of it. What's your thoughts on the 6al box in general. Trogenhorse

I've used MSD ignition for the last 20 years or so with little to no problems and they work great. You will notice a smoother idle and increased engine response.

Just do NOT get zapped by a bad plug wire. It will make you hurt yourself getting away from it.

Re: msd 6al

+1^..... and make sure ignition is turned off lol. its pretty close to getting hit by a taser in my opinion.

i have a 6al thats a few years old on my stang. and a 6a that is on my caprice thats been in service for me since 95, and was in service on another race car (89 ranger wit 347 &fiberglass cab)waaay before i got it. so id say 15+ years makes it pretty reliable.

Re: msd 6al

don't mount it in the engine compartment , I've had issues with them getting hot before and shutting off ... but moved it to the cowl area where the wiper trans is and problems went away , so every time after that that's were I mounted them ...
