First major mod V-2!!!

So i just came across a deal i thought i could not pass up for my first major mod. It is a vortech v-2 s trim with an anderson power pipe and all other parts included. Got it for 1500 shipped which i think is a good deal. It looks in great shape and has 5k miles on it. I cant wait to get home in 3 weeks and get to work on it!!!!

Ya i thought it was also lol, i was looking at the on3 kit before but i alteady have a full exhaust system and a street heat intake so i figured this might not get as much total power as the turbo but it will be alot easyer to set up and run. So plan is my tuner told me to get 60# injectors and a matching maf. So im going to get the 85mm digital one iv heard so much about. I also have a 255 in tank pump but ge is saying ill need a trex pump also for proper fuel flow so thats on the to buy list. And probably an AEM Wideband if money allows.

Do you guys think a 255 lph pump should be fine? Im stock longblock with a street heat intake and full exaust? And was hoping this would be fine untill i do a new motor and full aero system next year?

---------- Post added at 07:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:27 PM ----------

Im planning on like 8-9 pounds of boost for now

Should be ok, but if you are concerned that it may not be enough, AFM has a 340 lph pump.

It's priced down to $139 right now.
If you find you need even more fuel you can also add the Vortech T-Rex external pump.

Or just go with the Aeromotive A-1000 to start with.

It should be, but I have noticed some manufacturers (Holley) specify a special version of their 255lph pumps for forced induction that deliver more fuel than a standard 255lph pump.

I'm going to run the AFM 340lph and the T-Rex on mine just to be safe.
If it needs more than that I will have to redo the system.

Nope!
What I'm doing is probably overkill for the beginning 8-12 lbs of boost, but the capacity will be there when I turn up the wick a bit more I hope.
I'd rather drown it, than burn it.

i was just thinking if he already has the 255 it would be worth a shot trying.especially if he already has it installed.plus he was thinking of getting a wideband so he should know right away.i guess im just a cheap a$$ lol.but i do agree that playing it safe would be a smart move.

Yeah if he already has the 255 and it's installed I'd definitely try it.
In that case he could just add the T-Rex if he needed more fuel flow.

Re: First major mod V-2!!!

So just ordered the 340 lph pump, blower will show up tomorrow and I also forgot to mention that it also came with the upgraded 8 rib pulley system. And also scored a deal on some new 48lb injectors for 250 bucks. Only thing that sucks is Im not going to be home for 2-4 weeks now because of work So ill either start a new thread or just update this one once i get started on the install and ill also post a video of the dyno and maybe a small street video after its all said and done!!!

Well that's going to be hard to deal with when all the parts are sitting there waiting. However the $$ are needed to fuel the mod desire, so off to work you go eh?

Just start a new Vortech V-2 Installation thread.
That'll make it easier to search out and read.
