86 leaks water from roof, but not from t tops

I have an 86 hatchback w t tops that leaks water from the divider strip on the roof. I did notice a thin long piece of metal was rattling so I removed it and it had rivits in it. I had to remove the headliner to get it out. Any suggestions? Heard that's common on these cars. Thanks

You probably just need to reseal the T-Tops.
Also check the drain channels and make sure they are not clogged up.
