having problems

For some reason my car keeps dieing on me here resently...first happened a week ago droped it from N to drive after sitting at a red light and it acted like it stalled out...started up fine, ran fine...20 miles later did it again, I looked and oil presurs was Jus a hair but lower than normal but everything eles was fine, ain't done it again till yesturday. Stalled out when went from P to R it did it agian. Now its doing it when I go to a stop when its in in D when I get to Jus bout stopping it bucks and dies, died twice went starting it in N going to D...it don't do it if its in N when I go to a stop or if I drop it down to 2 and then to 1 when going to a stop...I checked under hood every thing is good (oil, idels fine, and tranny fluid don't smell burned)...is it possible for tranny to cause it to stall out?? What should be my next steps??

Have your transmission scanned.
The lock up function of the converter may be failing.

No sorry I don't, but you would have to pull the transmission to fix it.

Lock up staying engaged could make it buck and die. First thing is first got to check the ecu to see if any dtc's are there. If you can find a shop that has a snap on or equivalent scanner will save you some bucks. Not sure but it should have a lock up relay somewhere that may be sticking.

Dtc= diagnostic trouble code

Either in the relay center under the hood or mounted on the firewall. Just get the trouble codes first and start there. Do not go by a auto parts store to get the codes cause they will try to sell you every part that comes up bad.

Rattle like a bearing out rattle? Only lines would be the fluid lines and you'd notice if it's leaking.

Probably a torque converter or pump issue.

I bought my first car when I was 13 years old.
Been tinkering and building them ever since.

Thanks, That's the actual "Trojan Horse".
Minus the fake blower engine of course.
Like the original, "It's what's inside that counts".

Get the speciality cleaner for the maf. I'd clean it off the car with the maf cleaner. What was the code number for the temp sensor? Should of been p something.

---------- Post added at 11:18 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:02 AM ----------

I run a can of b-12 chemtool thru a tank of gas to keep my fuel system somewhat clean. Didn't know they made maf cleaner though.

Nope, B12 is a vitamin. Gives your MAF that little extra "boost" of power it's been missing lately.

P.S. Just so this doesn't get misunderstood by some, "That's a joke."

It's steroids for your stang. B-12 is made by berrymans and I swear by the stuff for the fuel system. I'll look up the code and get back to you.
