maf ?

My car runs pretty good and the motor runs real smooth and strong and don't cut out or miss but how come when I unplug my maf the motor runs noticebly stronger with it unpluged.I wouldn't think the maf is bad cuz it runs fine while it's hooked up. Any ideas?

You don't want to remove the maf.it is either bad or dirty.when you unplug it it is going into a factory setting of air/fuel.when its unplugged your car will no longer be able to adjust fuel for different temp, amounts of air etc.

Even though it feels like its fine I would try cleaning it.

+1
What may be happening is that with the MAF unplugged the fuel mixture is leaning out.
While an engine will "run stronger" in that scenario, they sure won't last longer.

Clean it and then test it to see if it is fully functional.
