Currently, I have BBK shorties, and a custom o/r H (no cats).
I have to pass inspection in two months and here that means ALL emissions equipment must be hooked up and functional. Kind of a pain, but has to be done.
As part of a trade, I got an H-pipe from a guy who didn't remember what year Mustang it came from.
It has 4 cats.. don't '94-'95 5.0's have just two? Also, it has 4 o2 sensor bungs. What would be the best way to use this for my car?
The cats are all cut so they'd have to be welded back on. Thanks in advance.

With 4 O2 sensor bungs I bet that's off of a 99-04 model.
My 86 & 89 also had 4 cats or two resonators and two cats, which I believe the 94-95's also had.

Lot of work, but just cut out what you need.
I think the 94-95 looked like this.

Hmm. I may just try to sell what I have and buy one from a 94-95. With all the work needed to make this work, I don't think it's worth it.

I have to get all of the EGR on before I put cats on anyway, thanks.

What about just putting bolts or welding the 2 other o2 holes up if it will still bolt up the same?

Not likely. Look at the difference in the photos.

Just looked at that.

For $490, idk..

I'd be more inclined to get the BBK H-pipe with high-flow-cats from LRS for $420.

If I'm understanding correctly, the 94-95 had the two "resonators" as pictured in Trojan's response. None of the mid-pipes I've found online have them.. Are they deleted when using an aftermarket mid-pipe or do I need to add some?

In BBK's description their midpipe is a direct bolton to their shorty headers, which I have.

If I'm not mistaken high flow cats aren't legal in all states are they?

Dang, you're right. I just talked to someone in customer service from AmericanMuscle. High flow cats are designed only to quite down an off-road exhaust. They are not legal in an emissions restrictive area.

Good call man.

Someone I work with lives in another county, which has no emissions testing. She told me that all the shops require the address that is on the insurance paper for the car be in the county to be inspected..

In Indiana.when you go to get plates.the use whos ever name is first on the title, and that's how they determin what's required to get plates.so I put my wifes cousin on the title with me.and when I went to register it they used his address.and a lot of people may not like this technique because someone else's name is on the title.but the person I used is very trustworthy and it doesn't bother me at all.and from what I can tell this is totally legal.I even told the lady at the bmv that I did this for emmision reasons.

Are you friends with any mechanics? I use to pay a extra $100 a year to the guy that did mine , he would put another car on the emission dyno (which is highly illegal) but no I keep my miles under 5,000 and I get exempt

I know someone that could do it, but knowing it's illegal and knowing how much trouble/fines we BOTH could get into, I'd rather avoid it.

Idk though..I may just have to this year. $500 for cats alone..

What about universal cats see if you can find cheap ones , weld them in the cut them out and re-weld the piping back in place
