Spark plug gap.

3 mustang 302. I see some people saying .044 and some saying .054. What is the proper gap?

Might not help much but I know my 4.6 V8 uses a .054 gap.

I had them at .044 and just changed it to .054 seems to be running better but will not know till tomorrow when I can open it up on the highway

Personal preference and wherever your car runs the best.I learned recently that the wider the gap the more power your ignition will pull so don't go to wide with it. Mine runs best at .042"-.045" gap.
