Ive been trying to. Just the issues of mentioned. Plus before mom wouldn't let me use garage. And its my dd. U did do some work on my f100 cause it wasn't my dd. I'm morw confident tackling cosmetics. If I mess that up it will just look bad lol not affect driveability

If you don't know for sure if you are low on fluid I wouldn't be driving it anywhere until I was sure it had enough.

+1000 we got off topic, u gotta get the plug out dude. Try a bigger ratchet, or put a piece on pipe on the one u have. Best penetrating oil on market is called Kano kroil .

I think space under car is most my prob. I lifted up back pass side first, tires not off ground. Tried front same but then jack in way. Then moved to under engine area. Ill get pen stuff give it another go maybe tomorrow. I'm off during day.

Just limped in 2nd to shop to look at coolant on bell housing and oil pan first. Then look into trans rattle. Conaenses seems to be prob throw out bearing. Any idea how much damage that would be at trans shop?

Probably just a guess as shops vary, but around 3-600$ maybe .the job requires pulling the tranny.which is actually isn't to hard to do but will take a at least a few hours labor.

On way to pick up. He said was leaking from timing cover rolling down and spraying where u saw it. He checked fluid in trans..was full. Says coolant not getting in There. No charge
He isn't trans guy but thinks synchro in 3rd not lining up right. Gonna limp back home park then ill have to get to trans shop. Said if cost is xtreme he has a t5 in shed hell sale me for 300. I'm contemplating just getting, but don't know where will put or didn't ask if its everything...trsns self, clutch, shifter. If shifter mines a short throw prob have to swap
How much does a trans weigh?... if your in north I'll. Youngs auto in lakemoor rt 120

Trans weight is around 75 lbs maybe.I would get that one for 300.a rebuild will cost over a thousand$ probably.it will probably not come with a clutch.

I would get that trans.save for a clutch kit which will be a little over 200-250$ then get an adjustable clutch cable kit for around 100$ or less.then some new fluid for 25$. That is just what I would do and rough estimates of the costs.you could always check your clutch when you take off the trans, but imo I would just change it while the trans is out.

Precisely. I called back because ya figured it would cost more than his trans to fix mine. He said the same thing save for a clutch and they'll put all in just swap shifters. Cause god forbid fix it or even buy his and install and have clutch go. I did see a ram clutch kit w flywheell and bearings for 350 via lrs.

---------- Post added at 04:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:00 PM ----------

Why an adjudtable clutch cable

the adj cable is not neccesary but will help dial in your clutch and make adjustments easier.

the flywheel may or may not be neccesary.i usually wait to see what it looks like before i buy the flywheel.as long as its not pitted/grooved to bad you can clean it up.but some people will change the flywheel automatically when doing a clutch.

Ya that's way I go comes w flywheel too. So unless anyone knows of ram clutches are garbage. I have some time so ill look elsewhere. Prob go to a junkyard try to find seat. Of course then eventually ill have to get all of them so not mismatched unless find grey one.

Read some reviews on ram clutches, mostly all good except for one. And he was running 650hp plus and beating it on track. I have no intentions of going that high. No intentions of anything forced just na.

That's usually similar to reviews I read. Example :" I went through 3 king cobra clutches.I'm only pushing 500hp.they are garbage." The king cobra is only rated for 400hp. Duh!.

Maybe before you buy the trans you could talk your mechanic into saying that he will help you if it leaks? That is if you trust him.

I trust him. Only sitting about year. Called trans shop as well said prob not likely seals dried up. I asked about them putting new seals in, said hour pr so labor plus seals. I'm gonna chance it don't think ill have a prob. Besides money is pretty non existent to me. Don't see why not but hopefully can keep my old trans for a backup I could have rebuilt if needed. Come to think of it that might be dumb need somewhere to put and if needs total rebuild not worth it well see

Got back finally . Verdict start up sounds little different. Not bad just sounds cleaner and muffled. He fixed or gerri rigged seat for me on his own nc. Shifting wise, clutch doesn't really seem firmer but catches a lot Quicker. Almost stalled 1st few times already. Still going to baby for while still scared, don't know how long break in period on clutch is. And I guess I didn't have short throw in it. He just switched out trannies. Seems same though 2nd feels like slightly down and over, my other seemed more straight down I think. So if your In northern I'll and see a ugly primer grey loud fox lets see some horns
