6 speed

Is it possible to put a 6 speed in a 91 gt

sure! a friend of mine put one in his 95 GT, he used a T-56 and purchased a 5.0 bell housing that worked with it etc etc. It will have to be cable driven for the easiest solution to install and the T-56 is. No idea on mods needed to actually make it fit fully but it can be done.

I believe it will need a smaller driveshaft an a diff trans mount aswell.

^+1 ford racing has some t56 swap parts on their site.

bbk ssi, 70ml t.b., bbk adj.reg., bd11-a 11psi, e-cam,
racing aod, 2700 stall, 3.42 gears, ported e7, 308ci, 1.7rr, comp .560valve springs, gear drive, high dwell module, msd 6a & coil, bbk off road xpipe, mac cat back, 30lbs inj, pro-m 90mm, welded subframe connectors, boxed upper & lower trailing arms, spherical axle bushings, 255/50/16 tires, 255lph pump, 456hp

D and D makes a kit, costs i think 1400 for the swap kit and 2700 for the kit and a transmission.

Installing a T56 into an ‘86 Mustang.
Although the T56 is bigger than the TR-3550, it will fit into the tunnel of a ‘86 Mustang. You will have to shorten your driveshaft. You will be able to use your same clutch, bellhousing, slip yoke, and speedometer cable.
The crossmember will bolt into the stock location, but you will have to modify it.
