I recommend 4.10 for auto and 3.73 for manual.

Re: 4.10 gears

they modify the rear wheels turning.

4.10 is the one comparision of revolutions of the driveshaft to rear wheels (4.10 turns)

the higher the number the quicker the rear wheels turn so the faster you accelerate per driveshaft turning. The down side is it takes more turns to keep you going so the top end and gas mileage are hurt the higher you go.

Re: 4.10 gears

you will just be at a higher rpm than you were before so your gas mileage will go down on the highway.

Also, the speedomter has a rpm cut off I believe for those year cars so your car will cut off at a lower speed.

getting the speedometer adjusted is not fun, it wont ever be 100% accurate FYI

I have 4.10s and once I go over 50mph there is a 10mph difference and I've just gotten use to driving that way, if the speed limit is 55 I'll go to 65 on my speedometer , and when I'm doing 65-70mph my RPMs are around 4,000

Yea for cars that the speedomter cant be altered via tune you have to resort to a speed calibration unit (good way to go) or a new speedo gear (bad as they are never 100% accurate)

Sorry to Jack this thread but I had a ? Concerning 410s my car had 2:73 gears but it has a 1999 model t5 in it and I guess it has a different speed sensor or something different then the 94. But my speedometer was off bad. All the wires was hooked up on the tranny. Well anyways I put 4:10s in it. And now it's off real bad. So I just unhooked the speed sensor so I wasn't rackin up extra miles real quick. But what can I do to fix my two problems to get it workin right?

sounds like you had a 2.73 v6 rearend hooked up to a t5 with a 3.27 v8 speed sensor.... which would definatley be off a bit. then you droped in a 4.10 gear...but u still have the 3.27 speed sensor in the tranny.

sounds like you need a new speed sensor. you should try to find some transmission parts/rebuilder company. they arent real expensive.

anyway, is wut i mentioned your situation? or did i misunderstand?

also, do you have a 120 speedo or a 150?

Yeah your pretty much right. I had a 7.5 with 2:73 don't know what year that was and it has a 1999 v6 5 speed tranny in it and I don't know what excatly speed sensor is in the trans. So that's based on what size ring and pinion thst u have? Amd now I've put a 91 gt 8.8 with 4:10s in it and swaped the axels and brakes over. And on the speedometer I found some cobra gauges a while back so 160 mph

Ya need to get the actual 4.10 gear ring that fits on the gear shaft and the 4.10 speedo gear and than you will get actual M.P.H.
