starting issue

so guys this morning i went to start my car and it cranked like normal but for some reason would not fire. i hit the smog pump with a wrench and when i tried to start it again it fired right up.
yes i know hitting smog pump has no chance of being wat caused it to fire, but tellin everything that happened
