Re: Steering wheel

not sure on what you can do but just a major FYI if you carry insurance on the car and you remove the air bag that can cause big trouble if you file a claim~

The columns are made differently, internally to provide the circuits for the airbag controls.
You will probably have to change out the column.
Steering wheel manufacturers will not provide wheel adapters for air bagged cars because it makes them liable in the event of an accident.

You will have to get an adapter to fit the column shaft that you have.
Don't be tempted to cobble something up, because your safety and life may depend on it.

If the wheel manufacturer does not make them, then you are probably out of luck.

Sure you can.
It's not too difficult.
For me it was always the wiring that was the biggest PITA, especially if it doesn't match the car.

I would suggest you see if the procedure is covered in your Chilton's or Haynes manual in case you have any issues.

87-88 didn't have airbags if I remember correctly, the older ones didn't either but I would try to stay as close to your year as you can for the column
