5 speed swap

Hey y'all! I need some info. I have a 89 gt with an aod. I want to swap over to a 5 speed. Is there any particular year of car that I could get some pedals and other parts? And how hard is it to do the swap? Thanks in advance!!!

I didnt it would make it easier more room of course... But not necessary. I didnt even hook one up but all cars are wired for it u just buy one and put it in there is a connector under the dash somewhere by the pedals

Re: 5 speed swap

U will also have to cut a lil of the opening in the trans tunnel, aod/5spd cars have different openings. I had to in my 90 atleast. Pedals are a pita but not to terrible depending on how ur built an if ur flexible lol

I haven't looked yet, but is there a provision already for the clutch cable to go through the firewall or will I have to drill a hole?

Re: 5 speed swap

yes, its a plugged hole next to spedo cable. I believe you should move the spedo cable over and use that one for the clutch cable to keep it inline better with the quadrant. not 100% sure though. havnt did the swap in 3 years
