88 gt for $500

My cousin found an 88 gt fa $500 no sp, no ps, with an AOD can't beat that price fa a fox my question is his car pops a lot and white smoke comes out the tail pipe wen he really get down on it.. I think it's his timing or something is high he idles at almost 1800 rpms I think it's to high

Idle is very high mine idles at 700 even with a good cam it shouldn't idle but 1000-1200

Thought that was strange the car pops wen he gets down on it too pops then white smoke shoot out the tail pipe Im thinking he need to change his oil and plugs already changed wires

What are the specs? Carb'd/EFI? Any mods? I notice it's an 88, is it still speed density?

Still speed density stock 5.0 ho no ac no ps or sp efi and I think it's timing as well he raced a grand prix v6 supercharged a 99 he beat him the first time but after he took the distributor out don't kno y he did but after he put it back in he kept getting beat

I'll agree with timing.White smoke usually means that it is consuming coolant from a blown head or intake gasket.

I think it's timing too and plus he don't run premium gas like I do in my 88 Lx I try to get a vid on him makin a pass

he only need to run premium gas is his timing is advanced.or unless of course there are power adders.
