Opinion time !!

What does everyone think would be a good cam with 1.7 rockers for a 331 stroker with flat top pistons with valve cuts. Elderbrock performer intake, elderbrock performer heads, 5 speed, 3.73 gear, 70 mm TB with 24 lbs injectors. And maybe next year 150 shot. It's a weekend car only for street cruising and play but if I need it it's here. I don't care about sound just performance. Thanks for any thoughts.

I'd call a good cam shop. They should be able to hook you up with a good custom grind cam.

I would but all the big name shops have a 4 to 5 month waiting list. You can't even call Ed Harris's shop e-mail only. That's why I was looking at a OTS cam.

Hmm in that case.. I had a comp mutha thumper in my old 93. I had the same heads with KB 10:1 pistons edelbrock air gap performer with a 650 Holley I can't remember the specs it's been so long I will try to find my old cam card.. The cam had a nice choppy idle.. And a nice powerband.. Just an opinion.. But custom grind is always the best there is somewhere that can cut one for you ASAP I'm sure

Even if you don't wanna wait that long they may still have a shelf cam that will match your needs.

I would probably check out comp cams. You may get lucky and summit racing carry one that they recommend. Because they are located in Ohio. Also Trojan has a good cam selection tool in the Sticky section called camquest.

I sent Comp Cam a fact sheet and they sent me back there recommendation. But when I checked the lift with my 1.7 rockers it was going to put me over .575 which is the max lift on my heads. So I called them back and they acted like I was bothering them. They said they would research it and email me and have not here anymore.

Even though comp cams is pretty reputable I would give them a big FU. Try the camquest software. It will tell you the best lift and duration to use and then compare to other top brands specs.
