EGR Questions???

Was wondering if I really need to hook up my EGR valve? I don't have to worry about emissions (thank you NY ) so I was just curious if I have to worry about hooking up a new vacuum canister for it?

Re: EGR Questions???

A working smog system will give you better gas mileage, at the cost of only a few HP to turn the pump, and a little weight. That being said my stang has no pump and the EGR vavle is in place simply to block off the holes. If the EGR gets not signal to open, it stays closed. So I would go with no. But keep in mind. Federal law states it must be in place and working, although if someone checked they are out to get you.

Without a egr and smog pump your car loses weight loses bulk looks better underhood. More HP. And your engine stays cleaner inside and will prolly last longer and intake won't be as hot because the egr reroutes exshaust back into your intAke
