Gears

Run 75mph at about 3grand is that normal bc my z71 runs that at a lower rpm I'm wondering if the lx might have gears in it Dnt really want to pull the rear plate.

just jack the rear up. turn the tire exactly one revolution and count the exact amount of drive shaft rotation.

3 1/4 = 3.27
3 3/4 = 3.73

With an overdrive transmission, no that is not normal.

Well it's a stock trans And my brothers GT is a lot stronger in 3and 4 then mine and my 1and 2 is stronger then his his was build for the 1/4mile it's carbed and was running the bottle on it b4 he for it so I'd guess his gears and stock either

In any auto OD transmission (unless it is specifically built for it) you do not want to shift into OD at WOT. The gears and clutches in OD are not strong enough to tolerate that very many times.

Same thing applies to the 5-speeds.
The OD gears are not strong enough to hold up under WOT shifts.

It could be attributed to either differing gear ratios in the transmissions or to the engine combination and tune.

Why dont you go for a 99-01 cobra front bumper? It would be more DD friendly.
