Descision making help

I have reached two huge decisions that need to be made soon. I recently bought a c4 and its been in my 90 mustang and It's going to have to be gone thru and rebuilt.my dad has been trying to talk me into switching it to a 5 speed instead. I personally think the c4 will be faster and more reliable in the future when I get more horses.but the problem is I have 4 11 gears in it what cause the c4 to tach 3000 rpms doing 55 which kills me in gas.so I'd like some insight on which people would recommend to go.also I am getting the motor rebuilt and I was wondering how costly it would be to stroke it or if it would just be better to go to a 351.

a c4 is essentially an aod without overdrive. so really they arent much stronger than a t5 or aod if any, unless built. i would definitly switch if you are worried about mpgs.

how about a stroked 351?

Well how much more expensive would it be to get a 351 and stroke it?or is it more worth it to buy one all ready stroked?

it all depends on what your ultimate goal is. the price of the machining and kit would be pretty similar. but you will have to find a block. another option for a strong block is the boss 302 block. that can be had for about 16-1700$ if it was me i would search salvage yards and craigslist etc for a decent 351 block. a kit would be around 1000 give or take.

Trojan Horse is just getting started.
Re: Descision making help

I second the 351W and a built AOD if you want to stay automatic.
