The most horsepower out of a 302 N/A

Hey guys I'm just wondering does anyone have a video or article about getting the most horsepower from a stock 302 bottom with the biggest heads intake and cam possible , with all supporting bolt ons but keeping the car 100% N/A

There's an article for a 495 HP 331 in the Useful Info thread.
You probably won't find anything much past that as it is approaching the limits of the block.
You really wouldn't want to go beyond the limits of the block either as you might ruin some expensive pieces when it fails.

You'll notice most of these are stroker and Boss block builds.
That gives an indication of the difficulty and the short longevity of a stock block at that power level.

500 HP 302 Boss

515 HP 302 Boss Crate Engine

318" Ford Engine (stroked 302) - 500 hp

86 GT 500 HP Video

500 HP Supercharged Video - I know it's not what you are looking for, but it includes a full list of parts and it's NICE looking convertible.

Ive always wondered how much the stock rotating assembly could take every video or pic ive seen always show the block splitting at around 500 and not the rotating assembly

That's because the block is the weakest point, but the stock rods and crank are not far behind. Being mass produced and originally designed to hold 225 HP or so, I wouldn't put much faith in them past what the block is capable of holding.

I suppose if you really wanted to know bad enough you could assemble them into an aftermarket block and find out?

i once hooked up a telephone speaker to a 1500 watt amp back in high school. then played a bassy jam. it lasted for about 4 seconds, popped really loud, then shot out a little lighter size flame. it was fun but wouldnt compare to torture testing a stock rotating assembly. lol
