Help please!

K so i popped the hood on my 83 gt and noticed that this wire was unhooked. The motor is out of a early 70's mustang. The carb is a motorcraft 2 barrel. Now my question is, what is this wire and what should it be hooked up to? What does it do?

Re: Help please!

That's a dashpot I believe they were called. They are used to kick the idle up when the A/C compressor kicks in.
They were usually wired into the A/C clutch power wire I think, so it would activate the dashpot every time the compressor kicked in.
