Need some professional assistance ... ;)

Okay ive decided to go with the explorer heads but i have problems! A) i was told there are two different style heads on them and B) what should i get to go with them while im gonna be tearing into it... all advice and options would be greatly appreciated ! Thanks Terry

I think some are GT40 and some are GT40P(P=Production) I'd suggest some roller rockers, not sure if 1.6 or 1.7 would be best, and an intake. I prefer matching parts so the explorer intake would be good IMO, tubular looks cool but can't be ported the way the explorer/cobra intakes can. For more power the trick flow stuff is nice as well but is more expensive if your on a budget.

Thanks guys... cause i called the junk yard and they were the ones that told me... said im looking at 100 bucks for the heads gotta love cheap power!

Alright so im gonna go with the gt40 heads and get a 3 angle port and polish on them... what else do you guys recommend getting to go along with my heads im super excited now!!

If you can get the intake have it ported as well.

I don't remember what I was quoted, I ended up having some machinists at work do mine for free. Some places will probably give you a deal to do the heads and intake.

It depends in how heavy the porting is and man hours.. For a port and polish and 3 angle job I would say $190ish

Some good comp springs rated for a .550 lift should work fine, and new valve retainers and seals.. They are fairly cheap for a rebuild kit.. I'm not exactly positive but I'm sure it's under $80
