Im gunna make an uneducated guess here and say the ”filler neck” is rubber and your leak is coming from the joint of your gas cap and ”filler neck”....or at the tank..maybe someone replaced a fuel pump and damaged the neck?.
Plus gas stations usually say ”do not top off”

You sure its an aftermarket tank?...im guessing your stock tank is plastic..if it looks clean that probably means someone did change a fuel pump or fiddled with something..
Is your car set up for any kind of racing?..thats the only way somebody would put a different tank in..and it would most likely be in the trunk.

You sure the tank is plastic? The cover that goes over your tank is but the tank should be metal.

If its just a small leak try some epoxy. You can pick it up at your local auto parts store. Just make sure you clean it good.
