Car dies when i stop

Title kind of explains it. The car runs fine until I stop at a sign or light and then just dies. It will restart after with no problems. I'm kinda new to the 5.0 and I just bought the car. I know it has a b303 cam. Any ideas what to do? Also the transmission has a hard time getting into third and grinds getting into fourth unless I let the rpms die down alittle. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What does it idle at and when was last time you changed fuel filter that solved my problem with it

It idles at about 1000. Like I said I just bought the car so I'm looking at all possible options. I'll check the fuel filter out Tomorrow morning.

You could also check distributor cap/ rotor and

Just do some routine matinee in case the previous owner wasn't to nice to it lol

Do a good tune up.Plugs wires cap maybe clean throttle body all the good stuff. Check fuel pressure..

That sound like a good start to me. Is 1000 alittle high for an idle?

Any mods besides the cam?

Make sure your air filter is clean that was my problem with my 99 gt. died at stop signs ect

Exhaust which is cut after the muffler, bbk intake, that's all I really know.

It's hard to say mine idles closer to 800 but it's kinda whatever your car like to run at.. If its got cats longs shooting now but it might be clogged
