Lol but seriously, I probably would have searched around trying to figure out what all I needed if you hadnt chimed in.

I keep hearing and reading that I'll need the master cylinder and what not from the newer car but have also read and hear that I don't need the parts, I basically have everything but theaster cylinder since a while back a buddy of mine needed one. What do you think?
I would upgrade it because of the increased requirements of rear disc brakes. The 93 cobra MC will do just fine, I would also look into a proportioning valve too to set the brake bias.

Would it hurt anything to drive it without the adjustable proportioning valve and MC? Like would I basically be pushing against a rock without swapping the other components in.

I can get the proportioning valve from the 95 as well if that will work.

From what I've read it like having brake fade all the time. You could probably get away with it driving slow but I wouldn't risk it.

Buddy of mine swapped over to discs using a thunderbird rear and his was harder than a rock when trying to push it. He ended up swapping the master, booster and proportioning valve then a friend came over and told him his calipers were o upside down and that's y they wouldn't bleed and hard to push, flipped them and they bled and work no problem.

So my one friend said his pedal felt messed up because the calipers were upside down but I had a feeling that wasn't the whole reason.

Would I be ok to run my booster or do I need to upgrade it to the newer style as well?

Yours may work but the one from the SN95 or one from a 93 Cobra will work better as they are designed for the rear disk master cylinders.

Kk, that I do have, grabbed it and put it in my garage before someone else decided they needed it(seems to beca common thing to take parts from other peoples cars), does the proportioning valve from a sn95 work on a fox without having to make new lines? If so I can nab that as well.

Was trying to avoid having to wallow out the booster holes if I didn't have to heh. Looks like I may need to because I already have the 95 booster.

Yes, once people find out you have a few "extras" it's amazing how many needy local "buddies" you have.

I have not done this swap myself so I'm not sure about the proportioning valve just bolting up, but I bet it is not much difference if any.

Sounds like this might be a project for the winter. Like dreamstang. Said in his thread, running outta track days. Think I might just go up the way she sits so I can see how fast into this time around.

Then start the conversion this winter, then go back up next year to see how it does. Kind of like that idea because I'll be able to see what every mod does to my times.

Yep, it's a good idea to keep a log of every run and the changes you make so you can see what they do.

Yup, wish I would have went when it was completely stock then went after my heads and intake, exhaust swap.

So far I'm pretty certain if I can get off the line without much spinning I'll def beat my 15.1 at 96 mph time lol, my car has a lot of top end now with that intake and that aod just couldn't get the power out to get it up and running on top.

Dreamstang has a track log he and I made up. Maybe he will share it with you or I probably have a generic one somewhere on my PC if you need it.

The "trick" is to find your optimum launch RPM, just high enough to keep you from bogging or spinning excessively.

We have a tuning log. We didn't make one for track launching did we? If so I probably have it stored away just didn't remember.

I thought we included stuff for the track?
Maybe not? I will see if I can find one on my PC.

Yeah I have no problem posting, but not sure how benificial it would be to someone without doing carb tuning. But it may give someone some good ideas on how to make there own to suit there needs.

Five lug rear is outta the car, moving on to the front!

As far as launching goes, I'm thinking 1500-2000 maybe, with street tires, that way if I spin I'm not all over the place spinning.

trojan was thinking something like this tuning log we made. but for track purposes if you wanted to log you would incorporate stuff like:
temp, humidity, date, time, tire tread %, launch rpm, 60', trap speed, et, etc etc. this way you could keep track of the important things and dial the car in. but this imo would only be worth it for regular track use. but still is cool none the less.

Agreed, the ones I have, have most of that and we can add whatever else we want.

Front spindles are off, just need my buddies dad to make spacers for my ball joints. Ball joints on that 95 were junk.

Probably gonna get new lines that run to the calipers and grab an adapter for the one side. Pop off the proportioning valve and see if it'll bolt right in.

So I've pretty much got everything I need, need to read the tag on the rear because I've read 94-95 had 2.73 gears or 3.08 factory with the rare occasion being 3.73. Kinda be upset if it has high gearing but at least I'll have 5 lug and discs.

Rear axle has 3.08s at least that's what it says on the tag. Maybe I've got the 2 somethin in my car now(wishful thinking) so it won't be too bad.

probably wont notice to much though. you can also verify by spinning the flange and counting tire rotations. just a thought if you plan on regearing and doing it yourself, i would wait to put it in. because it will be much easier on a bench, compared to on jack stands.

My 87 GT had a 2.73 gear in it. I was only at 2000rpm at 80mph. I never had a chance to take it to the track.

So I need to adjust my clutch a little more, do I run the nuts in or run them out to get more pedal?(zoom quadrant and cable) as it sits it's about an inch or do off the floor and it's engaging, little tough pullin it into the gears but no grinding.

Just don't remember which way I need to adjust it to get more pedal, it's been too long heh

I think tightening it will give you some more pedal. But its a 50/50 shot mark what you have with a marker and adjust it..

Picked up my iPhone window/vent mount last night. That thing looks heavy duty! I'm hopin it takes good video but in starting to wonder how bad it's going to vibrate when I'm on the car for a steady video :/

Gonna try to adjust my clutch today then maybe I'll take it out for a quick spin and video holder test. Need to fill up with gas and give her a bath.

Ok so I adjusted the clutch(still need to get used to the new adjustment), took it out for a ride. Got a couple videos, seem to be getting a little wheel hop, not alot but some, if I can get them to upload ill post them up.

The mount does pretty good, gets a little shaker but that could either be the vibrations from my car or the road itself. I think it will suffice for the Friday night test and tune tho

Sweetness.
Some umi lift bars will cure that wheel hop issue.
