GT vs LX ?

What's the difference when they both have 5.0's performance wise.. Obvious one is body kit ect. But is there any hp differences?

The GT is just a more heavily optioned version of the LX, or the LX is just a less optioned version of the GT.

No HP difference between the two, but the LX will be a bit faster usually because it is lighter weight.

That's kinda what I thought.. I wonder how much lighter. If I got a fiberglass hatch would that cut a lot of weight off?

I don't know exactly how much, but you could search the Mustang GT Registry for the figures if you really want to know.

A glass hatch will remove a lot of weight, especially if you use a Lexan rear window with it, but really you'd be removing weight on the wrong end of the car. Mustangs are predominantly front heavy, so weight loss efforts produce better results if you concentrate on the front end first and move to the back when you have totally made up your mind what you want to accomplish with the car.

I put a glass hatch and Lexan window on my 86 GT, but I'm also moving the battery to the back and installing a 6 or 8 point roll bar.

up to 200 lbs lighter. i forget the reason. but i believe the fiberglass hatches are more for drag racing.

sorry to misinform. i have compared my vert to the lx and it was around 200 but a vert is even heavier. so its less than that.
