Heads

I'm looking into different heads but I don't know which to go with. Whatever I go with I'm planning to have ported polished and shaved. What would be the best heads with work done to them. Factory e7 heads, 351w heads, or a set or gt40p heads.

gt40p are the best you listed. but none would compare to a good set of aluminum heads.

If you are going to go through the trouble of porting get some good aluminum heads. Plus, they will perform better than the heads you listed right out of the box. If you look around a set of twisted wedge, edlebrock or Holley heads can be found for cheap. I bought a set of twisted wedge heads a few years ago complete for $600.

Re: Heads

I agree 100%.

Save the money you would spend on those heads and look for a used set of aluminum heads.
You will not only get a better flowing set of heads, but you will remove some weight from the front of the car.

Go aluminum. I spent a lot of money porting and installing new valves in an old set of gt40's only to find out they were cracked. Finally got some afr 165's.
