To Swap, or not to swap......

I went out a bought a 2002 Stang with a 3.8 V6 in her. Now, in the driveway sits a 1995 Bronco with a 5.8 (351 Windsor) motor. She's a little tired with about 200,000+ plu on the odometer. Hummm, what do yall think it will take to get the 5.8 in the 02' Stang?

Re: To Swap, or not to swap......

it will ruin the v6 as far as being worth anything and you will run into a crap ton of issues but it can be done. If its a carbed motor it would be MUCH easier.

Re: To Swap, or not to swap......

Thanks SpectorV, after some review, I realized this wuz way over my head. This little 3.8 just doesn't put out the ponies I'd like. I LOVE the car. Back to the drawing board. I guess it's not like my '72 Torino at all! I am not worried to much about the money part as I am making the car very fast. Supercharging could work, but I am still dealing with a V6....Chips, computers, etc., etc....
Thanks a bunch!

Re: To Swap, or not to swap......

You could make that 6 fast if you want to. Easier to sell it and get a v8 but if you have a lot of cash and are considering motor swaps there are options.

Check out
Super Six Motorsports
Tom Morana Racing Engines
Redlined Performance Mustangs

Super six has built 4.3 longblocks to drop in.

Morana took it up to 4.4 and offers long block kits as well. 4.4, wow thats almost as much displacement as the 4.6. To bad they don't develop custom OHC heads and timing chain/cam deletes haha. Have a 4.4 SOHC v6. Oh it would sound so nice.

Re: To Swap, or not to swap......

Thanks Kiljosh, I am looking into these options. I live in El Paso and have very few V6's that can run. Maybe this will help!

there are v6's in the 10s or better in the quarter mile. You just have to pay to play
