Bypassing air pump and a/c compressor

Okay I want to bypass my compressor because it's **** and the air pump can this be done just with a new belt or do I need pulleys to go in place

Unless the clutch is engaged and it is pumping, the AC compressor is just an idler pulley. So unless you are removing the compressor there is really no need to bypass it.

Imo if you ain't using it I would just delete it all together..it has to be a good 20lbs of junk!..plus it really opens up your engine bay

Yeah, there's a good amount of weight savings to be had there.


I like my AC, so I'm keeping mine. I'll just make some extra HP to cover the loss.

Haha..yeah I drove all day in my non a/c stang eek!!...its like a freakin microwave!..but ill never change back..it's just how I roll

yeah the ac atuff is ugly. but i have the option to go topless.

my neigbor stang that is 7-800 hp and has some juice. still running a/c
