keeps cranking.

So I have the car together now. New starter and selinoid, after trying to start her, she wants to keep cranking even after the ignition is off. I can't figure out the problem. I re-did most of the grounds. From the battery's to the block and from the block to the firewall.

The solenoid is bad (contacts welded together) or it's wired wrong.

The selinoid could be wired wrong? I think everything's is good but there is one wire running from the seliniid through the firewall. I'm guessing the ignition. Could that cause a problem like this. I know fords always have ignition issues.

I just got a new selinoid. I have a wire from the starter to the selinoid, a wire coming from my ignition I think to the selinoid and my positive wire going to the selinoid.

Post a picture of your solenoid and I will show you how it should be wired.

Coming from my starter to my seliniod? It should be on the other side. So the ground should be on that side?

Re: keeps cranking.

Here is how to properly wire the solenoid.

You DO NOT connect a ground to any of the terminals.
