Slight miss? Coil packs?

Think I have a slight miss but I'm not sure.. I put new plugs in.. And now I'm thinking about coil back and distributer. Is there any real benefits from msd or aftermarket ones?

Well if you have a distribtor you dont have coil packs. You do however have 1 coil , and a msd dizzy ,cap, rotor, coil will give you much better spark. As for missing when its dark out start your car and look to see if the wires are arcing i had that issue easy fix. Especially if u have like say the 6al setup imo.

Sorry dizzy is short for distributor 6al is short for the msd ignition box ( and they have others try google or maybe a sticky thread on here) . Yeah mallory is really good but i believe more expensive never really priced them. What ever you do imo stay away from accel wrost products i have ever used . However im sure some people have had luck with them

You can also pop the dizzy cap off and check for corrosion on the rotor and contacts..i know msd caps have brass contacts that conduct better and resist corrosion..

Re: Slight miss? Coil packs?

Late Model Restoration has this coil called the screamin demon. They claim to add 3 HP Dyno tested. But yeah, you may not see that high of gains out of changing the coil pack. Just a better spark and smoother acceleration.
