Ac recharging

How do I know which type of freon I have in my car. The guy I bought it off of says that it was converted over to 134 but there is not a new sticker or anything under the hood saying what type. There are new silver connectors on my ac lines going to my compressor. Is there a way to check or do I have to take it and get it vac out and start over? Any help would be great. Thanks

The r-12 and 134a freon has different size fittings. I believe the 134 is bigger. Chances are if the fittings look new he changed them. Ask a buddy if they have a hose for 134 and see if it fits. Don't force it on it should just clip.
