Scanner Tool

I have a CEL that comes on ever so often and then goes off. What is a decent scanner that will fit my 92 gt? Don't need anything fancy just something that will let me know what is going on. Thanks

Any of them made for your car will probably work ok to pull codes.
The prices range from cheap to very expensive or you can do the tests without them.
There should be a link to an article on how to do it in the Useful Info sticky thread.

I got an actron obd 1 scanner from auto zone for about $30 it's nothing fancy as you just count the number of times the light blink to find your code...though ive never used it as my cel light was on when I first got my car,but went of after plenty of tlc...only thing is you can only check the code while the light is on.

I have seen a few car diagnostic apps. But you have to purchase the cord from the developer. I always wanted to check them out. But I already have a nice obd2 scanner and my stang is carbed.
