I want to upgrade my stock MAF to a 80mm MAF from a 2000 mustang. Will it I need to do anything special besides splice the new connections?

Make sure your injector size is the same as the MAF is calibrated for and that the electronics and signals are compatible with your car's electronics.

If your car is otherwise stock, I think that 80mm would be overkill.. as far as what it takes to fit I haven't got a clue.

The size is ok. You want your air intake system to be shaped kind of like a funnel going in to the engine intake.
