Power chip

I have a 89 mustang with a 5.0. Gt40p heads b303 cam 70 mm tb, c.a.i typhone upper and lower intake. I want to put some kind of chip on it. But I don't know what kind is good or what to get. What's a good kind? Also looking to put a programmer on one day. Any ideas?

They don't make normal handheld tuners like they do for newer cars. Your best option would be Trojans fav the amf PMS tuner. It's a piggy back style. You can adjust most parameters in the ecu with it. It's a bit pricey but tuning is almost unlimited.

And there is a link to it in the sticky section

I have looked at it. I would like to go with it. But would the sct chip also go along with it?

You wouldn't need the act if you had that. It would pretty much take control over the ecu. The chip would be useless. The PMS could handle all the tuning needs.

Trojan Horse is just getting started.
Re: Power chip

With your mods, you would be wasting money with a chip and dyno tune at this point. Your factory ECU can handle what you have easily.

The PMS can change almost any parameter you can think of, but it is not cheap.
BUT, when compared to the $500 for a chip and tune, then having to go back for a retune whenever you make changes, it becomes more justifiable quickly.
