if you get the master install kit, it will come with everything. including bearings, fluid, shims, friction modifier.

the kit im talking about comes with royal purple. the break in period is only 500 miles and you change it anyways. so valvoline will be fine.

either one.
you will also have to calibrate your speedo. you can pick up the gear from am to do so.

did you get new bearings to?

i would get something like this. http://www.americanmuscle.com/frpp-8...-kit-8604.html. then get 2 bottles of gear oil and a 4oz bottle of friction modifier. then when you set the pinion use the old nut untill you get it set, then install the new crush sleeve.

no problem. i would definitly replace bearings during the install. its not to bad but ou dont want to do it twice. the kit also comes with mesh coumpound to check mesh during install. and new bolts and everything. thats what i used when i installed mine.

Well as far as changing gears does it do a major change with the rpms, like does it mess up the computer in a way that The car will need something done to the computer. I don't know if I said this right you can maybe tell by now that I don't really know about mechanics but bare with...lol

your computer will be fine. your rpms will probably go up a couple hundred at cruising speeds. you will have to buy a calibration gear from AM. they are about 20$ and take 10 minutes to change. just call them with your info and they will getnyou the correct one.

Re: 373 gears question

I'd use the 75/90 gear oil unless you are going road racing. No need in expending the power to turn the gears through the heavier oil unless it is needed.

I definetly agree on that one. They've helped me with alota things on here and answer all my questions no matter how stupid it is, along with a few other people on here. But this forums a lot more help than other forums other forums people get mouthy and cocky if you ask common sense questions about cars that the average person may not know. Best forum and people out there imo.

QuickFoxbody,

It seems that you have already been given the correct advice. I would also recommend getting the installation & bearing kit, which comes with gaskets, shims & bearings.(obviously fluid as well) Also to re set the speedo you can get the speedo gear tooth!

I am glad to hear that you guys are helping each other, its awesome!

Hit me up if you need further assistance!
