Electric fan on a 5.0 or stock fan?

Im thinking of getting an electric fan for my stang and I want to know if the electric fans are strong enough to cool my engine better than my stock one powered by the crank?

My 95 cobra came stock with an electric fan so I'd say it would do just fine. Not to mention, it frees up some hp.

Thanks, I'll have to try that out. What kind of fan should I get? Or can I just go to a junk yard and get a 95 mustang fan?

I'm sure you could pull one out of the junkyard but I'm almost positive the GT's didn't have an electric fan.

an electric fan isnt necessarily gonna cool better than a 225hp motor driven fan. the most benifit is controllability and less engine drag. you can get some bad a$$ fans though that may be better than stock. i do have an eletric.

also you will have to worry about current draw. especially if you already have other aftermarket stuff drawing power like msd, amps, etc etc. if thats the case then you will need a high amp alternator.

then also make sure you wire it properly. i use a hd adjustable fan controller. real easy to wire. if you need a part number let me know.

Naw I don't have any msd stuff in here yet so I guess I'm good. If I do decide to go electric I'll ask you for the number, I gotta find one that's stronger than my stock one or else itl just be a waste of time and money.
