Amp light came on

Just put in the 120 amp alternator and crank and water pump under drive pulleys plus a wire kit for the alternator. The install wasn't too bad, took way longer than i thought it would though. but when i started the car the amp light was on and the volts drop slightly over time? What did I do wrong?

its the under drive pullies.

you could probably change the alternator pulley to a smaller and get a shorter belt.

imo they shouldnt even sell ud pullies for the fox. i think i have seen this problem at least 245,878,899,743 times

Re: Amp light came on

damn, i didn't even use the alternator pulley that came with the kit. Would it help to put the pulley off of the stock alternator onto the newer one?

it may help. but you would probably have to change the belt to.

did you verify voltage like stangrcr suggests. that would help you verify your not charging good.

Re: Amp light came on

I'm going to wait until morning, i'm off of work till saturday so hopefully i can get this resolved by then. I noticed that the water pump pulley didn't have a channel that the belt can sit on and was wondering if there was any way to ensure the belt will sit right on it?

since the other pulleys still have a flange it shouldnt be able to slide. but just watch it a little bit.
