Snap on dianostic tester

Ow accurate are these things said my timing was 20 degrees . It plugs into the dianostic port and read from the computer while the car is running . Buddy had one and we tested it on my 95

The one I used was decent but I'd sure cross check that with a timing light.

With the spout connector in, the timing should be 20*

That's what it was with it out .with it in it was 24. Why so off from a light

If its showing 24* on a light with the spout in then it's probably 14* w/o it which is where most engines like it to be anyways.
