blown out spark plug with oil - Mustang Evolution

blown out spark plug with oil

Hey all so I was taking off my plug wire and attached was the inside of the spark plug..took the plug out and it's covered some what in oil. Any thoughts? Car is a 94 but the engine is an 86..good ol Craigslist car.

Got any pics, perhaps oil leaked downward from the valve cover

Plugs can be broken in a number of ways, over tightening, dropping, piston hitting them, etc., etc..


You will need to determine if it was broken because it was the wrong plug, if it was hitting the piston or some other internal cause.
You will also need to determine if any of the ceramic or metal was left in the cylinder and it is likely it was.
That will need to be removed to make sure it does not cause any further damage.
If there was excessive oil it is likely that the damage has already been done.

Thanks man,yah the actual plug porcelain part didn't crack,the actual inner rod of the plug just came out with the wire. but the damage is done it's rebuild time.
