confused - Mustang Evolution

confused

Ok i built my motor up rpm surging bad like between 1000-2000. I changed every sensor O2s .tps iac still won't idle i was told there was a super chip in it. So pulled ecu and there was a hypertech chip i was told to pull it So i just did. Still same thing how can you tell if computer bad. Or what else could it be

Did you check your MAF sensor? Make sure it's plugged in and that the wires are not damaged.

Check your "Ten Pin" connectors and make sure they have good contact by following the procedure below. Then do a "Base Idle Reset" per your Chiltons manual and see what happens.

1. Take the 10 pin connectors apart (salt and pepper shakers, behind the TB).

2. Carefully use a fine pointed pick tool to spread the male terminals open more so they make better contact. In the center of each male terminal there is a small hole and seams down the sides of the terminal which will allow you to spread them open a bit.

3. Apply some dielectric grease to the terminals

4. Plug the connectors back together.

Trojan, what year did they start using MAF's, 1988?

How big a cam before car just needs a tune cause I've heard the cars computer can adjust itself to what I've got i just dunno if i should just bring it to a specialist for a good tune

Mine is running the X303 without any issues.
I don't think you need to worry about it until you go really big, and use high compression or forced induction.

Do you have the jumper for your ten pin connectors? If I remember correctly the 90 models needed it to idle properly.

Ok found out what's wrong it my air fuel mix is very wrong. Regulated fuel and it idled down.

Still have bugs to work out now that i know what the problem is or was now just gotta reset timing and tps and adjust my iac. And with the miles i put on her since the build. Pull the valve covers readjust valves if needed and should be good
