I haven't done the install, but there is a good how to article in the "useful mustang information" stick section thread.

I put a e303 cam in my 86 mustang GT and had to install MAF sensor. Don't think you'll need a computer but can't remember. Just ordered the MAF and had to run 4 wires to my computer. If you ordered it. Should come with a wire diagram telling you where they go to your computer. If you just got a used one. Call a company that sales them and ask them for direction or google it. Hope this helps some.

You cannot just hook a MAF to a speed density computer.
It is not configured to correctly interpret the signals from a MAF meter.
The conversion involves the ECU, wiring and MAF.

Like I said... I can't remember if I did put a new computer in or not. This was over 10 years ago. Just don't remember searching for one but may have. Makes sense though. I remember it kicked my ***. Some reason the diagram and the colors were not matching up well. Haha. Would like to add a computer chip now. Just need to find a good one.

You had to if you converted it to MAF. otherwise it wouldn't run well or maybe not at all.

You don't really need a chip unless you have a boatload of mods or you are forced induction.
Good luck finding a good one. I'm not a big fan of chips and through past experiences with them in Fox Body & SN95 Mustangs I won't ever buy one.
