I'm wanting to get a supercharger for my mustang but I don't know much about the engine . I'm wondering though what supercharger I should get or what would be a good company. Also if I do get one do I have to upgrade the engine to withstand it ?

No matter what you choose definitely get it tuned since you have the hypereutectic pistons. They don't hold up to detonation very well from what I've heard.

Dang how did you know he had hyper pistons? Im sure they are forged if its a stock bottom end depending n yr.. A tune is a must you need fuel to support the boost and tons of things go to the top and look at the stickies there is a lot of useful info about turbos and supercharges in there

I think jay is right. I *think* that 92 earlier had the forged pistons. But don't quote me on that. Either way the rods and crank still aren't forged. The crank may e all right as they lots of times out last block.

All the information can be had in the useful mustang information thread in the sticky section.

Yep, 93- up had hyper's.

Its all in the tune but the hyper pistons can handle around 8lbs if I remember correctly. The tune needs to be pretty much spot on to be safe.
