Take a breather

Does the 302 need the tube from the oil fill to the intake for vacuum reasons or is it just for emissions because I would like to remove tube and plug the holes and just use a breather. Also is it worth doing this?

No don't do that.
It helps ventilate the crankcase and should remain a closed system as using an open breather will cause an un-metered air condition.

You're welcome.

P.S. I had never thought about it causing issues like that either until I ran across that page. Once you read it, it makes perfect sense that it would.
