gt40 swap ?s

I just got a set of gt40 heads and upper/lower intake. How much are all of the gaskets and can I get them at auto zone? Im also installing a set of shorty headers and was wondering about gaskets for those as well and if AutoZone sells those

Yes and yes. My gaskets cost somewhere around $30-$40 for the heads intake and exhaust.

I'm in the middle of doing the gt40p swap on mine. And more than likely u will forget at least something. I know I did lol. But I can't wait to hear from ya to c how yours goes. Is your motor stock ? I say u could do it in a weekend. If u have all the right tools and parts. But more then likely it will take u a little longer. U never know what your going to find when u tear it apart. Be real careful not to break any waterpump or timing chain cover bolts since 5.0s are common for that. That's if your going to put in a new timing chain in. But I would if I was u. If your motor has a quite of few miles on it

Mine is 5 speed. I'm waiting on the intake adapter for the explorer intake to come in the mail. When I ordered it it was out of stock. . But good luck.

Get on summitracing.com they have the part. I think it's called a throttle body elbow adapter or something like that

Ugh I had the same problem. I stripped a bolt and had to use two heavy duty zip ties to keep my fuel rail held down to make it home

I had just got done sanding my. At prepping for paint everything was done on motor so I took it for a ride to blow the primer dust off from sanding, so I took it for a nice beating ride and on the return trip I have gas pissing everywhere I took it back to the shop and it was because the bolt snapped and the rail popper off the rear injector , just as I think I'm almost done I get kicked in the nuts lol

It's bluish grey, I already know its burning oil now. I don't want to pull the motor until I have the new block.

Lmao.. Love it.. I bought a 1982 280zx turbo one time and the seals went bad on the turbo and it would pull oil into the exhaust and if I could actually clear it out sometimes when it got bad... OMG.. It would like a top fuel just roasted the tires...

On a side note a buddy of mine just traded his truck for a very sweet 86' 460bb stroked and forged 698 solid roller huge *** heads 1050 carb.. It makes 1030rwhp on motor..good times ahead
